Dr. Pierre Pizem has been practicing general dentistry for more than 25 years at the Westmount Medical Building. After earning his Doctorate in Dentistry from Université de Montréal in 1991, Dr. Pizem began a career in community dental health at the Montreal Department of Public Health (Directeur de santé publique de Montréal), an agency attached to the Québec Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux. He was a member of the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists at the Montreal General Hospital until 2003.
Adding to his previous studies and experience, he completed a Masters Degree in Public Dental Health from Université de Montréal in 1999, for which he gained recognition as a specialist in this field by the Ordre des dentistes du Québec. Dr. Pizem is the author of technical publications both in Quebec and in France. His name has been cited by other authors, notably in the United States.
From the time of his doctoral studies, Dr. Pizem has had a special interest in endodontics (root canal procedures). His solid experience in that field has allowed him to successfully perform even the most delicate root canal procedures. Over the subsequent 20 years, dentists have referred patients for very intricate root canal procedures and continue to do so. Over the years, Dr. Pizem’s interest in sharing his passion led him to create the first root canal procedure blog in North America in 2004: Endomontreal. The blog is mainly a gallery of case studies stressing the fact that experience and advanced technology in the field of endodontics allow for more teeth to be preserved, avoiding extraction.
